According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, approximately 4.5 million dog bites occur in the US each year. Of those attacks, more than half involve children. These dog bites happen most frequently with known pets and around the victim’s home.
More than a quarter of these attacks require medical care. Medical bills are the leading causes of US bankruptcies. Approximately 23 million Americans already have some sort of medical bill problem before a dog bite comes into the picture.
Pet owners are wholly responsible for the repercussions of their animal’s actions. Additionally, the landlord or property owner can be held liable to cover medical bills for the injured party. We believe that victims of these animal attacks should not be held responsible for the actions of someone else’s pet. We make it our personal goal to fight off the uninvited medical bills that accompany serious dog bites.
