Meet the Firm

Thomas Morrissey

Attorney

Thomas Morrissey was born in Westminster, California. His father was an attorney and law professor, and his mother was a public school teacher. At the age of 8, the Morrissey family relocated to Castle, Arkansas, where Thomas and his older and younger brothers were raised.

Thomas received his B.B.A. in Finance and J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After graduating law school in 1996, Thomas relocated to Springfield to open a branch office of the law firm he worked for during law school.

In 2003, Thomas decided to open The Morrissey Law Firm, P.C., and dedicate the practice to helping those hurt or killed by the wrongful conduct of others with a strong emphasis on client relationships.

Thomas has honed his trial skills through over 26 years of experience and lifelong learning. Thomas is a Master Graduate of the Keenan Trial Institute (KTI). He is also on faculty of KTI’s Black Letter Law College and is Assistant Dean of KTI’s Direct Exam College.

Thomas is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association (SMBA), the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), and the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

Thomas is a proud father to his son, Joshua, and his daughter, Elizabeth (Ellie).

In his spare time, Thomas enjoys hot yoga and playing cards (black widow) with Momma Morrissey.


B. Kyle Kent

Attorney

Kyle Kent received his Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University and his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He strives to advocate for people who have been wrongfully injured.

Kyle is licensed to practice law in Missouri and holds an inactive license in Washington.

He is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association (SMBA) and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA).

After graduating law school in 2017 and passing the bar that summer, Kyle began his legal career by accepting a position as an Assistant Public Defender for the Missouri Public Defender. After a year of gaining trial experience fighting for the rights of the indigent, Kyle joined The Morrissey Law Firm, P.C., where he now stands up against insurance companies to fight for the rights of injured people.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, Darya, and their son, Christian.


Lisa Link

Paralegal & Office Manager

Lisa was born and raised in the St. Louis area. She graduated from Missouri State University in May of 2020 with her Bachelor’s in Criminology. Lisa has worked at The Morrissey Law Firm since June of 2018. In addition to Paralegal work, Lisa also manages the day-to-day operations of the firm.

In her time away from work, Lisa enjoys spending her time traveling and being outdoors.

 


Jenn Ridley

Paralegal

Jenn was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains and has lived in Springfield since August of 2011. She graduated in December of 2021 with her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Criminology from Missouri State University. Jenn has been with the firm since the beginning of August of 2021, and loves being a part of the team!

Outside of work, Jenn enjoys spending time with her dog, Sadie, her cat, Harley, and her fiancé, Ryan.

Paralegal

Ellen was born and raised in the St. Louis area and moved to Springfield in August of 2018. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s in Technical Writing & a minor in Web Development in December of 2020. She received her Paralegal Certificate in December of 2021 and has been with the firm since January of 2022.

In her spare time, Ellen enjoys hot yoga, reading, and spending time with her boyfriend, Dylan, and their cats, Nora and Gus.

Dena Teaver

Office Assistant

Dena grew up in Springfield, Missouri, where she graduated from Hillcrest High School. She attended OTC and Drury University. She’s been employed at The Morrissey Law Firm, P.C., since May of 2013.

Outside of work, Dena enjoys spending time with her partner, their daughter, Reign, and their two German Shepherds.
